Enrique Morente

Enrique Morente was born in Albaicín, Granada, at 25 of December 1942 and died in Madrid at 13 of December 2010 at the age of 67.
He started to sing when he was a child and he learn by his family and other people of Granada like Cobitos or the Habichuelas. In 1969, he recorded his first song, Cante Flamenco.
His first company was Manolo Sanlúcar,  and he compained him on his first actuation in Atenea de Madrid.
Last award: Best flamenco recording (2006).

"Only the poor copied. The geniuses steal."(Sólo los mediocres copian. Los genios roban.)

Eva la Yerbabuena

Eva Yerbabuena is a spanish flamenco dancer.When she was born he was taken to the land of their fathers Spain.Where with just twelve he began dancing with Enrique "El Canastero" Angustillas "La Mona" Mariquilla and Mario Maya.After studying drama at Sevilla, he moved to Havana, Cuba where he learned choreography.In 1985 he produced his professional jump, when you start working in the company of Rafael Aguilar for the show "Diquela of the Alhambra". In 1987, he worked with the Society of Paco Moyano in "Absence", "A coffee" and "De legend."

In 1998 he performed at the City Center in New York and at the Teatro Real in Madrid as guest artist with the National Ballet of Spain.In 2000 premiered a new show with his company "5 women 5" in XI Bienal de Flamenco.In 2002, he began a US tour performing in the most important theaters in major cities.

"LAS SEVILLANAS"

"Las sevillanas" are a typical dance and a way of singing from Seville. People dance "sevillanas" in the Faire. People who take partin wear a special type of cloth. The girls wear andalusian national dresser, and the boy usually wear the hats, the boots and a thick belt. This type of dancing is usually in pairs.

Camaron de la isla

The name of Camaron de la isla is Jose Monje Cruz. He was born 5/12/1950 in Cadiz and he died 2/7/1992 in Barcelona with 41 years old. He was a spanish flamenco singer, considered one of the all time greatest flamenco sigers. He play the guitar with Paco de Lucia and Tomatito. The best singuers of Camaron are "Soy Gitano", "Como el Agua" and "Vivire". He has de golden key of flamenco, he record with Paco de Lucia and Tomatito.

Tomatito

José Fernández Torres (Tomatito) was born in the 20/8/1958 in Almeria but later on he move to Málaga where he met Camarón. He play the guitar with Paco de Lucía in the single of Camarón "Agua". When he dead (Camarón) he start a tour in solitary.

 His first disco was Rosas del Amor (1987). Tomatito win his second Grammy to the best flamenco disco in 2000. He did a lot of tours in Germany, Japan, United States...

Camarón of island

Camaron of island born in  5 of  December in 1950 and died on  2 of July in 1992 . He is considered the greatest of flamenc. In 1968 Camaron become fixed in the tablao Torres Bermejas in Madrid where he remained for twuelve years with Paco Cepero. In Torres Bermejas he meets guitarist Paco de Lucía wiht which would record nine albums between 1969-1977. On 2 of July, he died in lung cancer

The drawer

The drawer is an instrument of Peruvian origin. Usually measured 47 cm high, a base of 35 cm by 20 cm and is made of wood. The origin was because spanish people invaded the Peruvians and not let them use drums, so Peruvians created this instrument. This percussion instrument is played with hands, giving blows to the front part. Usually accompanied by a guitar, dancers with heels and palms.

Alfredo Tejada

Alfredo Tejada was born the 17 of May in 1979.

When he was 10, his family moved to Granada.  After 4 years of musical studies is discovered by the guitarist Luis Millán, and begins to sing in Granada.  He has earned multiple awards in various competitions in Andalusia, also work in "The cave of el Rocio" Sacromonte Granada and participated in albums by artists such as Miguel Ochando and Adrián Gala.

In this work , i will talk of flamenquismo and antiflamesquismo.
First what is the flamenquismo? The flamenquismo is the semantic field containing the cante flamenco and the tauromaquia.
Now i speak concering Enrique Morente I was born in 
granada on december 25, 1942 and was death in Madrid  december 13,2010 and I was a Spanish singer , considered one of the great innovators of flamenco.

What is the antiflamenquismo?It is  hate to the generation of 1898 for the flamenquismo.

He was born  in Madrid on september 6 of 1885 and 
i was death in barcelona on April 23 of 1936

Tango

It is a basic palo of flamenco with various modalities suchs as Badajoz, Triana, Cadiz, Jerez and Malaga.

The palms are little know as instrument but can be  as important as the guitar, the palms also serve as accompaniment and you can dance or sing only with this.

Joaquin Cortes is a flamenco dancer, choreographer, director and producer.
When he was 12 he started being a ballet dancer, but he just being a flamenco dancer when he was offered to go dancing in a theather when he was 19.

1. Origins of Flamenco

The flamenco is typical of Spain and it is originally from Andalusia. There were muslims, jewish and cristians traditions but in the 15th century the Gypsies arrived to Spain so the result of this combination was the Flamenco.

2. The term 'Flamenco'

The word flamenco, was created in the 19th century. There isn't any certain way to know where it is from but there are some hypothesis:

- because of the bird.
- fellah-mangu: songs of peasants
- because its origin is in Flanders
- because the gypsies are also known as 'flamencos'

3. The protagonists of flamenco

Las castañuelas son un instrumento de percusión muy antiguas, su origen es del año 1000 AC. Las castañuelas fueron inventadas por los fenicios, una cultura comercial, que llevó las castañuelas hasta: Grecia, Turquía, Italia, España y algunos países más. Sin embargo, España ha sido el país que mejor ha conservado el uso de las castañuelas.Las castañuelas son parte de la cultura España (se consideran el instrumento nacional del país).

-ORIGENS OF FLAMENCO

Flamenco's origins was in the 18th century in Andalucia, It´s known that  when Spain was under Arab domination the music was modified and adapted by them, later was modified by Christians and Jews and later by gypsies .Firstly was mostly dance but soon the vocal accompanied with clapping of hands  and then the  music from the Spanish guitar was introduce .

Between 1765 and 1860, the first Flamenco-schools were created in Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera and Triana (Seville).

Paco de Lucia was born on December 21st, 1947 in Algeciras, a beautiful city located in Cadiz. He has  always lived with the sound of flamenco songs and dances since he was born as all his family loved music. He was already familiar with compas when his father began teaching him to play the guitar at the early age of seven. Between 1962 and 1964 he toured the United States, along with his brother Pepe, with the Jose Greco Dance Company.
Since his first recording in 1960 with his brother Pepe, he has gone on to record many breaking albums. All of his solo albums are full of musical innovations . His amazing  popularity is still recognize all around the world.

He recorded ten albums . The renowned guitarist died suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack in Mexico in February 2014; he was 66 years old. The city of Algeciras, de Lucia's birthplace, declared two days of official mourning.

Antonio Mairena

Antonio Cruz García is a flamenco singer, known as Antonio Mairena. He was born in Seville in 1909, and he died in 1983. He was gypsy, his parents had five more children. In 1920 he sung for the first time in public and from this moment he participated in some competitions. His first success in Seville was in 1933 in Easter week when he sung to "Cristo de los Gitanos".He moved to Madrid where he sung for very famous and popular dancers. And then he sung as a soloist.

 

 He is one of the biggest and famous singer of the history. He deserved the biggest honors that probably no one else had never had in the flamenco history.

La Niña de la Puebla

 Her real name was Dolores Jimenez Alcantara. She was a flamenco singer and actress, too. She was born in Seville in the 28th of July of 1908 and she died in Malaga in the 14th of June of 1999. She had an especial characteristic: she was blind. She started her career at eigth years old, when she started studying music.

Her first concert was at the age of 20 and then she grow up.
Then the civil war started but this didn't stop her so she made tours around Spain.
She was married with Luquitas de Marchena and they had two children: Adelfa Soto and Pepe Soto.

When she was doing her last concert it ended fastly because she was ill, and after the concert she died.

THE SPANISH GUITAR

The spanish guitar is an instrument of the string family. It has 6 strings. It consists of a body, a fretboard a neck, an headstock and a bridge. The cithara is the ancestor of the guitar. Paco de Lucia is considered the best guitarist and one of the most representative and important flamenco figures. There are a lot of compositions for guitar, the most famous and beautiful are: Asturias of Albeniz, Recuerdos de la Alhambra of Francisco Tárrega, Concierto de Aranjuez of Joaquín Rodrigo, Capricho Árabe of Francisco Tárrega and Spanish Romance (anonymus). Castanets

 

 

          Castanets is a instrument the percussion. This wood's instrument is compound for two pieces

   the wood united for one cord. This instrument is more well know in Andalusia, this       

instrument is used in flamenco dance for give more rhythm at dance. The Phoenician 

           created the  castanets. The castanets have a forme the shell. The castanets become a essential 

        instruments in flamenco. This instrument have a different colours, but normally is brown. In

The art and the instrument

The flamenco. They people say it is an art, the experts say it was born in Andalucia in the middle of the XIX century, although some people think, that it is a lot older, and has Arabians and Indians origins.

Now I am going to explain that there are different types of Flamenco like the ``soleares, seguidillas, bulerías, etc...´´.

In this art there are flamenco dancer, like Joaquin Cortés, guitar players, like Paco de Lucía. and also flamenco singers like Pepe de Marchena.

With time the flamenco has changed and has fusioned with other kind of music like the Rock of Ketama.

A very important instrument specially for the flamenco dancer of Sevillana are the castanets. It is a percussion instrument.

It is made of walnut wood, ebony wood, etc... against wood harder the better.

You play them with your fingers hitting each other, and like, the wikipedia says: `` is known to the Phoenicians 3000 years ago´´.

One of the best that played the castanets was Carmen Amaya, flamenco singer and flamenco dancer.

The alegrias are the most important flamenco form in the "cantiñas", because it's the more sing by the flamenco singers and most celebrate by the public when they listen to it. Its name is considering that it encourages fun and floric. They are folk very populate in Cadiz and in Los Puertos.
The rhythm of the alegrias is that one: 1 2 [3] 4 5 [6] 7 [8] 9 [10] 11 [12]

An Indispensable Instrument 

The flamenco shoes are an important part of the flamenco dance, the flamenco costume and the flamenco music. the tap-dance of the flamenco dancer is a part of the rithmy of the flamenco music. they are spacially made for flamenco dancers.

A Flamenco Dancer With a Lot of Art

Sara Pereira Baras was born on the 25th of April of 1971 in Cadiz. Her mother was a flamenco teacher and opened an academy when Sara was 8 years old, and her mother was her teacher of flamenco. When Sara was 10, she was in a group called "Los Niños De La Tertulia Flamenca". That group travelled arround Andalusia acting for the people, she danced for the old queen Sofia, too. That was how Sara Baras started forming like a flamenco dancer.

Siempre Así

Siempre Así is a Espanish pop group founded in Seville in 1991. Siempre Así started for friendship between young group. The eight members of the group, including four singers, are Paola Prieto, Sandra Barón, Mati Carnerero, Rocío García Muñóz, Maite Parejo, Nacho Sabater, Ángel Rivas and Rafa Almarcha. They sang in the golden of "la infanta Cristina and Iñaki Urdangarín, Duquesa de Alba and Don Alfonso Díez". They have twelve albums in the market.

The best singer of Flamenco

His name was Jose Monge Cruz, well-know Camarón, its one of th best singers of Flamenco.

He was born in San Fernando, Cadiz. When he have five years old he play for the first time.
Whe he have twelve years old he won his first prize.

In 1968 he was permanent in the flamenco venue Torres Bermejas of Madrid.
He was there twelve years with the guitarist Paco Cepero.

In 1976 he get married with Dolores Montoya.

Camarón was death in 2th july of 1992 at the age of forty-one years old.

The drum kit is a musical instrument that belongs to the family of percussion.

This equipment is used in pop music, blues, jazz, rock, and heavy metal.

The drum kit consists of a set of drums, commonly of wood, covered by two patches, one striking (at the top) and other resonant (at the bottom). These drums may vary its diameter, affecting the tone, and the depth, changing the sensitivity over the patch of resonance. In addition the battery is also accompanied by essential dishes, and other accessorie.

Abraham Mateo is a Spanish singer who was born in the 25th of August. He appeared in a Spanish progamme call "Menuda Noche" when he was 9 years old accompanying his brother Tony Mateo who sang there. That day,Juan y medio gave him the surprise of let him sing. He sang the song "Hoy tengo ganas de ti".Later he appeared more times in the programme. He took part of the competition "Veo Veo" too. Where he won his first award (Only with 9 years!!) He and his brother had the same dream when they were children and it was to became a singer.His brother is in a group called "Casanova" with his best friends.The  musical producter EMI,gave him the chance to film a disc.In dicember of 2009, he filmed his first album called "Abraham Mateo",the single of this album was called "Vuelve conmigo" there were songs like "Destronado", "Un amor como los de antes","Cuando tú no estás","Imagíname sin ti"..But that wasn't the only one album he filmed.The 6th of dicember in 2013 he filmed the album called "AM".And the last one he filmed is called "Who I am",this disc was filmed in L.A,USA.

Ramón Melendi Espina (Melendi) is a singer-songwriter very famous in Spain. He was born on 21st January 1979 (Oviedo).  His speciality are rumba and pop-rock. He start his musical degree on 2000 with a band called "el Bosque de Sherwood".
His first albun was on 2004 that was called "Sin noticias de Holanda", and now he has published 7 albums, the last album published was "Un alumno mas". It is about his past and the things he did bad in his past. When he was young he was addicted to the alcohol and the drugs, but now he is rehabilitate and has a wife and one son.

Taylor Swift is an american singer, she also writes her own songs. She is born on 13th of December 1989. She started her career at the age of 14  when she moved with her family to Nashville, Tennessee.

She signed a contract with the very known company called "RCA Records", where famous singers wrote her songs. Her first album was in 2006 she started with country music. Her second album was "Fearless" and it was released  in 2008. "Fearless" became the best-selling album of 2009. In 2010 and 2012 she did her third and fourth album called "Speak now" and "Red", and her fifth album is "1989". Some songs of this album are: "Shake It Off" and "Blank Space". She won several awards.
